RoboTOX online toxicity monitor observes the behavior changes of Daphnia magna, commonly known as water flea, under the influence of toxic compounds in water. Sample water is serially diluted and runs through the measuring chambers containing the daphnia. The live videos of six chambers are recorded and the movements of daphnia are tracked to assess the behavior changes caused by toxic compounds. Toxic indicators are calculated by observed parameters and are used to give early warning of toxic shock in the wastewater treatment plants. RoboTOX is a world's first online toxicity monitor based on AI technology, which has the advantage of being able to predict the toxic unit(TU) equivalent value comparable to real TU value from a 24-hour Daphnia acute toxicity test.
